About
About Abhijeet Gupta
I am a Computer Science PhD candidate at the University of Dayton, with an expected graduation in 2027. My research centers on LLM interpretability and evaluation, reinforcement learning, and computer vision, with an emphasis on controlled experiments, multi-GPU pipelines, and reproducibility protocols.
I have co-authored five peer-reviewed papers across machine learning, computer vision, and AI safety, and I led the lab's KSE 2024 contribution on entropy-based feature selection for adversarial reinforcement learning. My day-to-day work involves Slurm-based multi-GPU experimentation, evaluation pipeline development, and the mentorship of junior researchers.
Prior to the PhD, I worked across industry and applied research. I served as a Software Engineer at Walmart Global Tech (through Kitestring Technical Services), where I delivered Docker and Kubernetes CI/CD infrastructure for a Node.js point-of-sale application. Earlier, I completed an ML and Product internship at Walmart in Bentonville, where I developed a supply chain classifier that achieved 90 percent accuracy, and I held an engineering role at mindZcloud Technologies. I also co-founded GearToCare, a seed-funded on-demand two-wheeler service.
Outside of academic research, I maintain an active interest in quantitative methods, including options pricing, GARCH volatility modeling, pairs trading backtests, and LSTM-based time series forecasting. I welcome thoughtful paper recommendations at any time.
